Balloon Dress

Lately, I have seen more and more balloon dresses. Her is an idea, that as a guy, I would have never though of. Leave it to the The Balloon Girls to come up with a balloon dress.

The dresses look really complicated. It would definitely take a balloon girl to make one of these.

CORRECTION:The balloon dress is worn by Joann Gray but was created by Jeremy Johnson and Marie Dadow.

Jeremy Johnston and Marie Dadow (right) spent nine hours creating JoAnn Gray's balloon dress, with inspiration drawn from the Victoria's Secret catalogue. Wearing all balloons, says Gray, Òfeels exciting!Ó

Hi I would like to know how the ballons are shaped so they stay and form the dress?
do you have any framing-guides or do you just shape it around the body?
How do you put it on? Does it have hooks on or do you just knot it together when you put it on the model?
Can someone please give me some guidance on how to make a dress out of ballons?
thanks, Jasmin

There is an article on that I wrote on how to create a simple balloon dress. It answers most of the questions you've asked.
There are also several other dress pics, as well as the one shown, in my BalloonHQ portfolio at on pages 21 & 22. The dress on the New Times cover was the first I did (skirt only - Jeremy did the top) for an adult. I've since done several others.
