Grasshopper

This a Grasshopper made by Rebecca Kanar of ABC Balloon Twisting. I really like her creative use of an Alien head. This is one I'm going to have to figure out. :)

Balloon Skin

This is the "Sun Burnt samurai" made by Rie Hosokai for the Diamond Jam 2006 Competition.

I really like his unique approach to making a balloon person. At first glance you don't think that is made of balloons.

I love the idea of using a larger balloon as a "skin" to cover the twisted structure. I have often tried such an approach myself.

It looks great, and is more realistic than any other method of making a balloon person that I have seen thus far.

I can't wait to see what else people with do with this technique.

Skulls

These are some creepy looking skulls. But you have to love how great they look. The mask on the left is made by Bonnie, The Balloon Lady. It is an adaptation of the skull on the right, made by John Christianson.

I really like the skull and wish I had seen John's version back when I had made my skeleton.

Bonnie's mask is just brilliant, and I know of plenty of kids that would love a skull mask.

I particularly like how they make the teeth. I usually end up doing the "pearl string" teeth when I make a skull. I like this method much better. Thank you Bonnie and John.

Parrot

My "Found Photo" of the day is a Parrot made by Patrick van de Ven. He is great twister who constantly impresses me with his fresh take on common balloon animals.

If you haven't seen his balloonhq portfolio, be sure to check it out.

His parrot is perfect. I love it. It looks just like a real parrot, yet it is very simple to construct.

Ashamed as I am to admit it, when asked for a parrot I usually default into the old one balloon "bird body" that is in every old library book.

But after seeing Patrick's take on it, I no longer will perpetuate the tired old three fold bird body parrot.

Thanks Patrick, you do great work.
